The Galaxy British Book Awards, the book world's answer to the oscars, are a televised event which attract a wider audience to books. The awards started in 1990 and have been won by almost every famous author in the UK Literary firmament.
The Awards cover 10 categories ranging from Biography to Children’s and Literary to Popular Fiction. The Awards are governed by the Academy of the British Book Industry
Agile marketing have helped develop the awards by partnering with TV Production company Cactus TV and have secured retailing category sponsors for individual awards and an overall headline sponsor (the Galaxy brand from Masterfoods UK Ltd) from 2007. As well as co-ordinating the retailer instore promotion.
