Merger creates new book discovery magazine in print & online

nb – newbooks’ magazine has merged with www.nudge-book.com
AMS digital publishing Ltd, the trading company behind the online book discovery site, nudge-book.com, has merged the site with the print magazine for readers and reading groups, nb-newbooks, to create a comprehensive specialist print and online discovery magazine for book lovers.
Guy Pringle, who becomes the Publisher of the combined company commented:
“We had been considering a foray into greater online book discovery for newbooks and came to the conclusion that a merger with the already established nudge-book.com made much more sense. Our passionate audience of general readers and reading groups will be thrilled that we can instantly offer so much extra content online. Couple all that support with the extra areas of publishing online nudge gives us and with the ‘Love your Indie’ bookshop initiative powered by Nudge, and this now affords us a comprehensive approach. It’s perfect synergy for a match”
He joins Alastair Giles (MD of partner company Agile Marketing’) and Simon Appleby (MD of Bookswarm, technology partner for AMS) as a Director of the company.
Alastair Giles commented: “Our aim is to create an innovative and rewarding multi-platform method for all book lovers to discover beyond the cover of any new book. We also plan to create a unique promotional option for publishers and authors. Our combined reach of truly passionate readers and followers will provide significant reach and, hopefully, an extremely fertile audience for publisher launches. We will also fold together the reviewer databases from each company to build the ‘Real Readers’ programme into, probably, the best online review generation service available”
The nudge-book.com website will relaunch from Oct 1st, incorporating ‘nb-newbooks’ content. It is made up of 6 individual book communities (BookHugger, BookNoir, BookDiva, BookChap, BookGeek & BookLife) which offer tailored connectivity to individual types of book lover with specific content and reviews within each.
A revamped free book app – The Nudge List – will also be launched during October. The iPad app, which currently reaches 17,500 consumers, will also now be available on iPhone for the first time. The Nudge List selects the most interesting new books, book-to-film adaptations and events in UK publishing every month.
A new seasonal edition of ‘nb-newbooks‘ magazine will be published at the end of October in a new format and incorporating ‘nudge-book.com’ content.
