Submissions Open for the Blogger's Book Prize 2022

The Blogger’s Book Prize celebrates the fundamental relationship between the book industry and the book bloggers who champion literature and share their wonderful recommendations with millions of readers across the country. Powered by NB Magazine, the Blogger’s Book Prize highlights inclusive, influential, and underrepresented books that have been published over the past year. Calling on book bloggers invaluable knowledge at every stage of the process, the Blogger’s Book Prize is fast becoming the jewel in the crown of the book blogging community.

Publishers are encouraged to submit fiction books published in 2021 –  we are looking for inclusive and addictive books that prompt book club discussions; books that are written to be enjoyed and devoured. Shortlisted books will best reflect the views of readers, book bloggers, reading groups, book clubs and all those who, in another tough year, have continuously supported and promoted bookshops and the publishing industry.

A pool of book bloggers will review all submissions in order to create a shortlist of six books, each of which will be represented by an individual blogger. These six bloggers will champion their titles, encouraging social engagement and conversation through a social media campaign, before the public have the chance to vote for their favourite book.

The shortlisted books and their blogger will be presented to an independent judging panel composed of industry professionals and well-established book bloggers, who will judge each title. Taking into consideration the public vote and each title’s social media campaign, the judging panel will determine the winner of The Bloggers Book Prize 2022.

The winning book will be awarded a cash prize of £1000.

Last year's prize

Last year, the prize yielded hundreds of entries and votes from blogger’s within the book community – the shortlist was represented by six stellar book bloggers, such as The Writing Greyhound who championed The Animals at Lockwood Manor by Jane Healey; AnnaBookBel who championed Piranesi by Susanna Clarke (which went on to win the Women’s Prize for Fiction!); and The Tattooed Book Geek who championed We Begin at the End by Chris Whitaker, (which would go on to also claim further accolades, such as the CWA Gold Dagger for Best Crime Novel), proving once again, the extraordinary ability bloggers have for finding excellent fiction.

The Prize was ultimately claimed by Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai for her novel The Mountains Sing, Which was fiercely represented by Emily Powter-Robinson, the talented blogger behind Em’s Shelf Love, who ensured The Mountains Sing was passionately represented in both the public vote and the judges meeting. You can watch the heartfelt conversation between Emily and Mai below…

This prize is very special Emily, because you have fiercly championed my book, before and during the voting period, thank you so much for your kind help.
